Old school tech metal at its best . . .

I haven't been the best about posting lately . . . Downright negligent would be an apt description I suppose. Anyway, to make it up to you, here's the full Discordance Axis discography (minus the fucking Hellchild split which I can't seem to track down. Oh well, it's on Original Sound Version.). I believe this is pretty much every song that they have put down on one format or another (I just embedded all of the "official" live vids from youtube, but you can download them using one of the popular flv download sites and then convert them to another format if you want them on your comp.), so enjoy-->>

This is the ex-Brain Drill, Reciprocal, etc . . . bassist's solo project and it's pretty badass. It also features Lord Marco on drums.

Pretty crazy mathcore from California I believe. These guys were signed to Debello for a while, but I believe this is the only thing they released.

I always like to see where cool bands came from musically, and Meshuggah definitely had some interesting beginnings. Fredrik Thordendal (who performed vocals on this as well as guitar) even sounds like an early James Hetfield, which is kind of awesome, so check it out-->>
Thought I'd post this beast of a tech/grind album. Features ex-Discordance Axis, Hayaino Daisuki vocalist Jon Chang and live Discordance Axis, ex-Human Remains guitarist Steve Procoprio(he doesn't appear on the album) and also Brian Fajardo of Noisear and Kill the Client.

Ok, I'm back from my "vacation" right in time to post some cool technical black metal from Tennessee. Try to imagine "The Black Dahlia Murder" on a "Necrophagist" binge-->>

Taking their name from a Polynesian sea-god, Tangaroa are a truly unique hybrid of experimental extreme metal and progressive grind. An abhorrent amalgamation of virtuoso technical abilities and incendiary metal riffs that combine a wealth of styles from black metal, grindcore, hardcore and jazz, and push back the boundaries and concepts of song structures, offering a defiant middle finger response to the current wave of tech-metal pretenders to the throne.

All I can say is WOW. I heard about these dudes a while ago on a forum, but they didn't have anything good up so it kind of stopped there. But now they have this 4 song EP and it kicks so much ass. Just looking at their pictures they look to be about 16 at the most. But listening to the music you think them to be 20 years older. The thing that really struck me about was that even though this EP is chocked full of Shawn lane esqe shreddage, it is NEVER pretentious, which is nearly impossible to find among musicians this age. Pure awesomeness, get it!!! -->
