Even though i live in Massachusetts i'm completely unaware of any real Death Metal scene around here so i was pretty surprised when i found out these guys hailed from outside Boston. Anyway, Abnormality play a relentlessly brutal style of death metal that strikes a perfect balance between technicality and memorable song writing. Kind of like a cross between Hate Eternal and Origin. Though there are breakdowns they never slow down enough to become typical slams and are closer to grooves really. But that doesn't take anything away from the sheer brutality of this album. One of the better products of this genre i've heard this year. Oh yeah and the vocalist is female and she puts a lot of male vocalists to shame.

I first heard about this bunch via Rock Band would you believe. I think they got on it because the (admittedly hot) singer worked on that game. Totally impossible to play on expert difficulty :D Really brutal though and well worth a listen.
