This is the ex-Brain Drill, Reciprocal, etc . . . bassist's solo project and it's pretty badass. It also features Lord Marco on drums.

New Elephant 9!!! I love this band, I haven't even really listened to it yet, but I figure it shouldn't be too far off from their first.

Red Sparowes - Discography

Photobucket
From: U.K.
Year: 2010, 2006, 2005
Genre: Post Rock, Instrumental

I've always had a thing for instrumental rock. Be it math or post, I listen to a lot of it. And since Red Sparowes just released their latest, I thought I might post the rest of their discography. I liked the newest one, but I was disappointed to see that the steel guitar had less presence than it did on previous albums. Anyways, here it is: The Fear Is Excruciating, Aphorisms EP, But Therein Lies the Answer, Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun and At the Soundless Dawn. I guess you can't be post rock without extremely long album/song titles.

Also, it should come to no surprise that this band has several Isis members within its ranks.

If you liked the Exivious post I believe you'll enjoy this as well. Features, once again, ex-cynic members, an ex-monstrosity guitarist and even at one time Ron Jarzombek.

Exivious - S/T

Photobucket
From: Netherlands
Year: 2009
Genre: Metal, Jazz, Progressive, Instrumental

Absolutely amazing jazz fusion-metal from ex-members of Cynic and Textures. It definitely has that trademark cynic sound, but with a little bit more of the jazz and progressive influence.

Instrumental Jazz-Metal from Georgia of all places. I've liked these guys since I first heard them, amazing tone, awesome arrangements and no stupid vocalist to get in the way of any of it!

Piglet - Lava Land EP

Photobucket
From: U.S.
Year: 2005
Genre: Math Rock, Instrumental

Math rock is definitely one of my other musical guilty pleasures and this is some grade-A shit. Sadly this is the only thing they've ever released and I have no idea what they're doing now. So enjoy-->

I highly recommended it for road trips.
