From: USA
Year: 2012
Genre: Sludge/Doom/Drone

So, if you caught my Iceburn Collective post awhile back, you know I'm a big fan of Gentry Densley's guitar playing. His inventive combination of the crushing groove of Tony Iommi and the experimental jazz based noise of Sonny Sharrock has always resulted in a style that sets him apart from most any other player within the various genres of extreme music. Whereas on the duo's last album they utilized the mind altering effects of drone much more, this time around they've taken a more direct approach and, to put it bluntly, rock the fuck out. And the results are incredible. They sound completely invigorated on the first 18 minute track, which never gets boring for a second and contains some of the best riffs he's written for this band. Overall this is an amazing album that blows away almost every other doom album thats been released this year. Buy it here.
